Nausea
Nausea is a feeling of sickness or discomfort in the stomach that may come with an urge to vomit.
There are several possible causes of nauses, which include:
► Gastrointestinal (GI) conditions like peptic ulcers, gastritis and gastroparesis.
► Seasickness and other motion sicknesses.
► Early pregnancy.
► Intense pain.
► Food poisoning.
► Indigestion (nausea after eating).
► Infections.
► Migraine headaches.
► Vertig
► Certain smells or odors.
► Overindulgence of alcohol
► Medications
There are a number of things that can be done to help relieve nausea such as:
► getting plenty of fresh air
► distracting yourself – for example, listen to music or watch a film
► taking regular sips of a cold drink
► drinking ginger or peppermint tea
► eating foods containing ginger – such as ginger biscuits
► eating smaller, more frequent meals
